BASEBALL EXERCISES
CHAMPIONS ARE MADE WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING!
The most important aspect of any athlete, at any age, is the preparation they make for the athletic endeavor they choose. All successful athletes have one thing in common. That common denominator is training their body, mentally and physically, for the specific sport they choose to excel at. No athlete attains greatness by mistake. The body and mind are incredible machines that perform incredible feats if trained in the proper manner. The keys to proper training are discipline, consistency and execution. The body works in perfect symmetry with the mind. By executing the proper training techniques, the body will perform, with specific instruction from the mind, the tasks which become second nature and this is accomplished through dedication, discipline and consistency.
This site was created for the purpose of educating the motivated Baseball Player (of any age) about the training techniques which provide the best possible opportunity for success in the sport. Many factors contribute to the success of a baseball player, size, strength, speed, power, hand-eye coordination, arm strength, leg strength flexibility, determination and, most-importantly, heart. Everybody has some of these attributes but nobody has all of them, at least not when they are young. Many of these attributes can be developed. However, determination and heart are difficult ones to develop without complete discipline. They all work together to develop the Player to be his or her best. A lacking of any of these attributes can be overcome with proper development of the others. For example, a baseball player who is not particularly large may be at a slight disadvantage when younger but that disadvantage disappears as he ages as long as he develops other attributes and talents to compensate for other deficiencies. We all know many all-star professional baseball players who are not large in size. If the player has the determination and heart, they can overcome any physical deficiency. A perfect example isĀ former major league pitcher Jim Abbott. Jim Abbott pitched in the Major Leagues for 10 seasons despite being born with only one arm. He even pitched a no-hitter in 1993. He was also a first round pick. If any aspiring baseball player needs motivation, just read Jim Abbott’s story, it is truly inspirational. There is no correlation between size and speed, arm-strength, leg strength, flexibility, hand-eye coordination, determination, discipline and heart and even disabilities. Take the time training and exercising as serious as playing the game itself and the obvious result will manifest itself.
When we speak of Baseball Exercises, in general, we do not speak only of physical training (although, we do not minimize the importance of physical training in any way) but we focus on both physical and mental training. The cognitive aspect of Baseball Exercises is just as critical as physical training. Aspiring baseball players have to train the mind just as much as the body for the perfect symmetry to excel at the sport, or any endeavor.
Throughout our site, we will also recommend certain programs which can be purchased (at a very reasonable cost) which will assist the player in the necessary development to become the best they can be. Every recommendation on this site has been personally reviewed, in depth, and a determination made that it is of a quality that would be very beneficial to a baseball players’ development. I would not recommend any program which has not been completely reviewed for quality. If there is a link on this site for a program, rest assured that we feel it will be of tremendous benefit to the baseball player and be an integral training aid.
Baseball is a very quirky game and probably the most important aspect of the game is the mental aspect of the individual player, especially beginning as a younger player. Baseball has been called the true cerebral sport. Hitters go into slumps because they become mentally removed from “their” game. Pitchers can become rattled, on the mound very easily, so mental strength is of the utmost importance. The most important program I recommend for every player, from Youth through High School, is BASEBALL STRATEGIES.
Please understand that I do not take these recommendations lightly, they are highly researched. The author of this program is a Professional Performance and Development Coach, who has worked with numerous Pro and Collegiate Teams and Players. This program is invaluable to any level baseball player. This is a tool or piece of necessary equipment and just as necessary as a Glove, bat or pair of cleats (and less expensive as any one of those items). I recommend this programĀ as strongly as any other program on the market today, to instill the proper mental state for all baseball players. This program will assist the Player by creating the proper foundation, upon which, all other training aids can build upon. First and foremost, baseball, like any other athletic endeavor, is as cerebral as it is physical in nature. The proper cognitive approach is integral to the complete development of acumen in the sport.
THE MENTAL GAME OF BASEBALL
Any player that ever played the game of baseball, at higher levels, can and will confirm that The Mental game of baseball is as important as the physicality of the game. Aspiring baseball players need to understand the importance of the facets of the mental aspect of athletic performance and how it transcends into the execution on the field. Mental or cognitive skills are integrally important in the development of the player, especially the youth player. The right attitude towards the game and training for the game are essential to peak performance on the field. It is relatively often we witness those individuals whom do not appear to possess the pure physical attributes to find exceptional success on the field. However, they seem to excel at every level they endeavor to. We ask ourselves why and how do they succeed with what appears to be physical deficiencies (This term is only used in the athletic context) rendering them at a disadvantage to other more physically gifted individuals. The answer is found in understanding The Mental Game of Baseball. These players have mastered the mental aspects of peak performance, opening their mind to the necessary symmetry between the cognitive functions of the mind and the physical performance of the body. many players have no problem with the physical training for the game of baseball or performing the necessary baseball exercises for better performance. However, the mental aspect of the game and performance on the field is a much more disciplined learning experience. A strong mind transcends into a strong body, always. A strong mind allows the body to perform flawlessly, and without fear of failure. The mental game of baseball needs to be mastered by every player to achieve their full potential on the field. that is why we highly recommend the one detailed program that can jump start every aspiring players’ proper cognitive approach to the game.
